These are the songs that Vashti Bunyan recorded in the sixties, before the release of her first album, Just Another Diamond Day, in 1970. Beautiful voice, and beautiful songs. Here we can hear a cover of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil's The Coldest Night of the Year (first performed by Nino Tempo and April Stevens), where she is accompanied by Twice As Much, from an unreleased Immediate single produced by Andrew Loog Oldham. I think that this is one of the best winter songs, and a kind of answer to Baby It's Cold Outside. Like Carole King sings, some kind of wonderful. Read more...

DE MARTIN, ET ALIX
CLÉMENT MAROT

Pig with bagpipes, gargoyle at the ruins of the Melrose Abbey (Scotland)
Serre Martin, nostre Pourceau m’entraine.
Martin se acopla, la envainó, suspira;
el cerdo se espantó con desacuerdo.
“Empuja,” gritó Alix, “que el cerdo tira.”
...
Martin la comprendió, envaina, suspira;
